Information on K-Laser Therapy

Laser therapy is the use of light at a specific wavelength, red to near infrared, to reduce pain and improve tissue regeneration. Laser light was first used for biomedical purposes in the 1960s in Hungary, by Endre Mester. The grew in popularity in the 1970s, and improvements in laser technology have made very low levels of laser power available that can be used more effectively for healing and pain relief.

What Is K-Laser?

K-laser is an FDA approved method of therapeutic treatment that uses low levels of laser energy directed at specific areas to reduce swelling and inflammation, as well as manage discomfort.

How Does K-Laser Work on Body Tissues?

The full extent of the process is not yet well understood, but current knowledge suggests that the laser light stimulates certain photo-sensitive processes and physical changes that increase circulation and draw nutrients to the affected area, which can improve regeneration of tissues and assist pain relief.

What Conditions Can K-Laser Therapy Help?

K-laser is used to relieve a number of painful conditions, including knee pain, shoulder pain, back pain, hip pain, arthritis, sports injuries, carpal tunnel syndrome, and TMJ. Your chiropractor can determine if K-laser therapy is right for you.
